There was a flurry of activity during the August closure with contractors coming and going at all hours, working hard to give the bar a much needed facelift! There is a fresh new colour scheme, giving a modern but theatrical feel. Variety posters now adorn the walls, joining the members’ headshots, bringing colour and celebrating what the club is all about. We’re still working through the archive to get more club history up on the walls – 127 years is a lot of history to get through!
A big thank you to Chairman Nicholas Robinson who over saw much of the works. Also Simon Bashford who led the charge on the new furniture and patiently liaised with the supplier on the installation. Further thanks to Malcolm for coming in very early to let contractors in and committee members who dropped by to help.
